Established in 2002, The San Francisco Women’s Political Committee (SFWPC) is the largest women’s organization in San Francisco. SFWPC recruits and supports feminist candidates for office, helps women get appointed to commissions, develops a slate card for each election cycle, hosts seminars and events, and distributes a quarterly newsletter.

SFWPC works to engage women in all dimensions of the political process. We educate our members about the issues facing women, engage them in the political process and give them a voice to influence policy. SFWPC is a multi-partisan organization, working with promising potential candidates, male and female, from all political parties. SFWPC is run by a volunteer Board of Directors that meets every month.

Get involved! Join a committee! In addition to attending great networking events, staying current on women’s issues in San Francisco by getting the newsletter and participating in the endorsement process, members can join committees. Each committee generally meets once a month for two to three hours. Anyone can join a committee as long as they are in good standing and there is room on the committee. (NOTE: The Endorsements Committee has a more rigorous schedule and members must have attended three events prior to the first meeting to be eligible to serve.)

If you would like to join a committee, please email the Membership Outreach Chair at membership@sfwpc.org and indicate which committee you would like to help out with. Current committees are: Programs, Endorsements, Fundraising and Membership.
