SFWPC Endorsement Process

SFWPC evaluates and endorses ballot measures and candidates (both male and female) according to their supportive stance on the following seven bottom-line issues:

Ø  Appoint and elect women to public office and position of political leadership

Ø  Safe, livable and green communities

Ø  Livable wages and pay equity for equal work

Ø  Accessible, quality health care, senior services, child care and early education

Ø  Reproductive freedom

Ø  Elimination of violence against women

Ø  Eradication of all forms of discrimination against women and girls

Through the SFWPC Endorsement Program, candidates are required to adhere to all of the policy issues in order to be eligible for endorsement. In addition, SFWPC members are active advocates in the legislative process for items that align with these policies.

The Endorsements Committee makes recommendations to the general membership and SFWPC members in good standing have the opportunity to vote on the group’s final endorsements. For more information about SFWPC endorsements, contact the Endorsements Chair, Frances Hsieh to get the 2008 questionnaire at f.hsieh@yahoo.com
